Lonesome River Band at Lowell Folk Fest!
July 10th, 2008
There’s a great line-up of acts that will be performing at the Lowell Folk Festival in a couple of weeks. This year’s “bluegrass feature act” will be the Lonesome River Band. For a complete list of perfomers click here.
The Lonesome River Band’s signature tight harmonies, solid instrumentals and innovative repertoire produced one of the most distinctive ensembles in all of bluegrass. This year will mark the band’s 26th anniversary.
Sammy Shelor is one of my favorite banjo players - I can’t wait to see him perform again!

OMG, this band was the “Dogs Bollocks” (as we say in ENgland), the tightest most fluent, united, complete band I have heard in 53 years. I’m 6ft 2″ and totally in love with the “big guy”. Damn he can play too….’gotta love and covert that banjo..and him..:o)
